Why the Sea is Salty:

In 2009, I made my first foray into narrative children's work as part of Oxford University Press' Myths and Legends educational series. I was tapped to work on two stories for a book called Why the Sea is Salty which dealt with water myths.

The first half was for a myth from India about droughts called Indra and Vritra, and the second was an Inuit myth about seals and walruses called Sedna. These are selected spreads I came up with, trying to create interesting negative space for the text to reside.
